A downloadable game for Windows
SPELLBOUND CHESS
A dark-fantasy chess duel where every piece wields a spell.
Two ancient covens locked in a duel fought across an enchanted board. The Crimson Coven and the Ashen Vigil each command six magical orders — and every one of them carries an arcane ability that bends the old rules of the game.
Standard chess movement. Castling, en passant, check, checkmate, promotion of your choice. Then add lightning strikes, summoned rune walls, prismatic beams, instant teleport-swaps, and a single life-saving ward. Plan your turn; spend your cooldowns; decide whether to play it like chess or like a wizard.
The Six Orders
- ♟ Apprentice — pawn movement. Arcane Dash — surge two tiles forward through a flicker of magic. (3-turn cooldown)
- ♞ Arcane Rider — knight movement. Lightning Bind — call down lightning on an enemy within three tiles, stunning them. (4-turn cooldown)
- ♝ Rune Seer — bishop movement. Prismatic Beam — fire a diagonal beam that strikes the first foe in its path. (3-turn cooldown)
- ♜ Stone Guardian — rook movement. Mystic Barrier — raise a rune wall on an adjacent tile. Lasts two turns. (4-turn cooldown)
- ♛ Grand Sorceress — queen movement. Astral Swap — teleport-swap places with any allied unit on the board. (5-turn cooldown)
- ♚ Archmage — king movement. Arcane Shield — a single ward that absorbs the next fatal blow. If they fall, your coven falls with them.
